Hitting the Speed Bumps Along Life's Way – led by Vicar James Fruehling-

Class I:  Basic Trust vs. Mistrust - Trust is a noble thing, right?  Maybe; but is mistrust a good thing, too?  What  did Mom and Dad say?

Class II:  Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt - Get moving!  Have some goals; make something of yourself!  Or – shall we just lean on the everlasting arms and not get too full of ourselves?

Class III:  Integrity vs. Despair - Life’s been good:  I wouldn’t change a thing!  Or – I’ve really messed up and it’s too late now.  Not just an issue for seniors!

We will look at the work of Erick Erickson for context, and also look at Scripture that may illuminate the context.  There will probably be a few quips from Martin Luther, too . . . .
OK – quips from his writings!

CHRIST, CREEDS, AND COLOSSEUM Led by Seminarian Ryan Eikenbary
This class will look at major themes and developments in Christianity from its   origins in the New Testament documents through the fall of the Roman Empire in 450 CE. Topics will include the development of worship, doctrine, major heresies, Church and State, and the formation of the canon of the Bible.  The goal of the course is to grow in our understanding of the early church and also to see the effect of these themes in our present 21st century American church context.
